“Will AI eat our jobs for breakfast?” 🤔 To answer this question, we at DCPolitics and DCBerlin invited customers, partners and friends to our first AI Breakfast at the beginning of January 2024 to discuss how ChatGPT & Co will change our communication and consulting industry, but also the world of our customers.

In his keynote, Engin Kurutepe also gave us an insight into how he and his team built a product based on AI within 6 weeks.

This was the prelude to a successful event series at DCBerlin. We are still working on this topic and look forward to welcoming you to the next edition of the AI Breakfast.

‘Late’ AI Breakfast at Düsseldorf Arena

All smiles everywhere; That’s exactly how we like it 🙂

We are still very excited about what happened a few days ago in the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA in Düsseldorf at our first (LATE) #AIBREAKFAST outside Berlin. Organising a business event in a football stadium was really something very special for everyone involved. It has also shown once again how important it is to regularly get out of the Berlin bubble and let in a breath of fresh air for new ideas and people. Thanks again to everyone involved: especially to Peter Verheyen, Michael Brechter, Nico Prang and Benjamin Neubert.

WAY DOWN THE MEMORY LANE

2016

DCBerlin started in Friedrichshain in 2016 – founded by Moritz and Frederic. The focus: designing and developing websites. Solid, clean, craftsmanship. Spoiler: It doesn’t stop at websites, because “just beautiful” is rarely enough in the digital world.

2017

In 2017, something happens that is considered an accolade in the agency world: we survive our first year of independence. Without a bronze statue, but with the realization that we can not only deliver, but also persevere.

2018

In 2018, the team grows to six and with growth comes a shift: away from pure web projects and towards performance marketing and marketing consulting. The first major clients, such as Oxfam, Hyundai and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, demonstrate this: Our claim is not “to be online”, but to be effective.

2019

This course will become more consistent in 2019: Performance and consulting are increasingly taking center stage. Less “We do something” and more “We develop strategies and build campaigns that deliver results.”

2020

2020 is a year with an announcement: With the founding of DCPolitics together with Ilyas, we are professionalizing the political-public sector. At the same time, the partnership with MVP Factory is launched, and Signal Iduna is the first major customer. Matt and Florian also join the team, which internally seemed like an upgrade from “good” to “seriously fast”.

2021

A milestone followed in 2021 that still resonates today: the start of the collaboration with Henkel. A client that not only delivers projects, but also raises standards in terms of strategy, consulting, implementation and reporting.

2022

2022 is both culture and a crowning achievement: Workation in Italy, Niklas starts as a trainee and Franzi joins the team at a legendary Christmas party; the details remain confidential (for good reason). As the icing on the cake, one of our prestigious projects with Henkel wins the Best Consulting Award from Wirtschaftswoche. Not bad for an agency that started out with websites.

2023

2023 will be bigger in terms of space and content: move from Friedrichshain to Charlottenburg, workation in Austria, Mathilde starts as a junior. And then: ChatGPT launches and, like everywhere else in the market, the question briefly arises as to whether our jobs will soon be done by AI. (Plot twist: We decide we’d rather be the ones who use AI sensibly). Sandra does an internship and fortunately comes back later.

2024

In 2024, we will draw conclusions from this: To avoid being “eaten for breakfast by AI”, we are launching the AI Breakfast in Berlin as a format that makes innovation tangible and puts practice before buzzwords. At the end of 2024, we are also moving to Gustav-Meyer-Allee to our partner familie redlich and: Sandra is back and with Lukas we are hiring our first AI Engineer! In agencies, this can also be seen as a strategic success.

2025

2025 will be a big year for us entrepreneurs: Together with the Redlich family, we will win our first major mandate for a federal ministry. This includes a workation in Piedmont – including “tons” of pasta and Barolo – and a milestone that shows one thing above all: DCBerlin has not only grown, but has come of age. Mit klarer Positionierung, echter Umsetzungskraft und dem Anspruch, Strategie, Performance und Innovation sauber zusammenzubringen.
